Overview

The course equips the students and faculty in your institution with the knowledge and skills to spot signs of people experiencing poor mental health, be confident to start a conversation and signpost a person to appropriate support. After the training, they will also be a part of the MHFAider community in India, gaining access to resources and ongoing learning to give them the tools and knowledge they need to carry out their role effectively and confidently.

As MHFAiders, your staff and students will be able to:

  • Recognize people experiencing poor mental health and provide them with first-level support and early intervention
  • Encourage a person to identify and access sources of professional help and other supports
  • Practice active listening and empathy
  • Have a conversation with improved mental health literacy around language and stigma
  • Discuss the MHFAider role in depth, including boundaries and confidentiality
  • Practice self-care for positive mental health

Format

  • A mix of instructor-led training, group discussions, and individual and group activities.
  • Session limits a minimum of 20 to a maximum of 22 learners in a batch
  • A self-paced e-learning component, followed by two 3-hour video conferencing sessions led by an accredited MHFA India Instructor

Training Fee

The value of MHFA training is 20,000 + GST per participant. Check the Training calendar open to the public for enrolment. Training fees may vary from one instructor to another. MHFA India does not employ MHFA instructors and they can set their prices.
