Overview

Self-injury is a negative coping response exhibited by people who are in distress and people who engage in NSSI are at a higher risk for suicide. The webinar will teach you the different causes for people to engage in NSSI, different methods in which a person might engage in NSSI, consequences of NSSI, and first aid techniques to apply to a person who engages in NSSI. The course builds practical skills to approach people who engage in NSSI with confidence, have a non-judgmental conversation, reassure them, and encourage them to get professional help.

The course will teach you

  • Why people engage in self-injury
  • How to talk to someone about their self-injury
  • How to help the person stay safe
  • How to direct someone to appropriate professional help
  • How to assess for suicidal thoughts and behaviors

Format

  • This is a 5-hour course delivered via two video conferencing sessions of 2.5 hours each.
  • Face-to-face is a given on half a day classroom

Criteria

The course is run all over India and is available to any adult.

Training Fee

The value of MHFA training is online 6500+18% GST per participant and In-person 8000+18% GST per participant. Check the Training Calendar for public courses to find an open course. Training fees may vary from one instructor to another. MHFA India does not employ MHFA instructors and they can set their price.
